About

I’m Tung Lin — a data analyst and transportation enthusiast based between Taipei, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

I specialize in transit planning, data visualization, and web development. I’m drawn to tools and services that serve all communities, and I approach every project with full deliberate commitment.

Background

I studied at UCLA, where I balanced coursework with roles at the Daily Bruin — working up from Video Intern to Assistant Video Producer, Sports Intern, and Online Intern. Along the way I also worked as an EMT-B for over a year and volunteered at Silicon Valley Bike Exchange, repairing bikes and staffing community events.

Professionally, I’ve focused on transportation data. Most of my recent work is with the Parking Reform Network, where I’ve built and maintained their full-stack parking reform map, managed a new parking code database, and driven data and UX improvements across their tools.

What I work with

  • Languages: Python, JavaScript, R, SQL
  • Data & GIS: QGIS, Leaflet, Pandas, GeoPandas
  • Web: HTML, CSS, Jekyll, Parcel, GitHub Actions
  • Interests: Transit policy, open data, sustainable cities
